Members of our “Quarterback Club” spend all spring and summer perfecting their fundamentals and preparing for the upcoming season. This is our forum to showcase their success each week during the football season.

Augie DeBiase (Class of 2016, offered by Indiana and Virginia Tech, Duncan U. Fletcher HS, Jacksonville, FL, Twitter: @AugieD5)
DeBiase and the Fletcher football team after rebounded last week’s loss with a dominating performance against rival Sandalwood. The Senators didn’t ask quarterback Augie DeBiase to throw much, and they didn’t need him to as Jessie Liptrot had 4 TDs on 5 touches. DeBiase had 1 passing TD in the game. Read More

Cole Northrup (Class of 2017, St. Augustine HS, St. Augustine, FL)
A missed field goal in final seconds allowed the Yellow Jackets led by Northrup to escape with 10-7 win. In a game that was clearly dominated by the defenses, Northrup finished the game going 7/16 for 64yds. St. Augustine moves to 4-0 on the season. Read More
There is a tremendous amount of excitement around the young Northrup. Last season he was one of the few freshman quarterbacks starting on a Varsity squad. He was a 2013 All First Coast honorable mention as a QB.

Mac Jones (Class of 2017, The Bolles School, Jacksonville, FL)
Jones, a sophomore, was pressed into action when Bolles starter Joe Edden left in the first quarter with an injury. In a 34-33 loss to rival Raines, Jones finished 10-of-21 for 190 yards and a pair of TDs. The go-ahead score for Raines came in the final seconds of the game. Caden Walters (Class of 2016, Dodge City HS, Dodge City, KS, Twitter: @Cdub_3)
In a game filled with big plays by both teams, it was the Wichita Heights Falcons that was able to come up with the last big play to set up their winning touchdown in a 26-21 victory over the Dodge City Red Demons. Walters completed 19 of 30 passes for 359 yards and two touchdowns and also caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Trent. Read More

Mason Winter (Class of 2017, Dodge City HS, Dodge City, KS)
Winter threw for 3 touchdowns and rushed another for the Dodge City Red Demon JV. They beat the Garden City Buffaloes Monday night.
He went 18/28 for 236 yds 3 TD passing and 42 yds on the ground for another score.

Nick Duncan (Class of 2015, Lawrenceville School, Lawrenceville, NJ)
After a huge opening-week win over Wyoming Seminary (Pa.) on the road last week to open its season, the Lawrenceville School football team was blanked by Choate Rosemary Hall. The non-conference loss to Choate ultimately won’t play a factor for Lawrenceville in the Mid-Atlantic Prep League. Read More

Jack Diamond (Class of 2017, Shawnee HS, Shawnee, OK)
The sophomore backup to 5-Star dual threat QB and East Carolina commit John Jacobs, Diamond has played in all of the Shawnee Wolves games due to a lingering hamsting injury that continues to impact Jacobs. He got his first this week against Ponca City. The Wildcats (1-2) ran the ball 57 times for 231 yards and held the Wolves (2-1) to 48 yards on the ground. Diamond was 13-for-22 for 168 yards with a touchdown. Read More

Putnam City North edged Choctaw 37-30. Sparks was phenomenal in the game orchestrating a second half comeback with 5 TD passes. Sparks had led Putnam City North to its first 3-0 start since 2009. Read More

Mustang rebounded after last week’s loss with an impressive performance, racking up 709yds of total offense, and defeating Edmond Memorial 57-37. Bronco junior quarterback Chandler Garrett was his usual steady self against Edmond Memorial. The 6-foot-4 Garrett finished the game with 223 yards in the air on 17-for-22 passing with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Garrett also had two 1-yard touchdown runs for Mustang. Read More

Jones scored with less than a minute left in the game as the Longhorns defeated Class 2A’s second-ranked Hennessey, 21-17, a week after the Eagles had knocked off Class 3A’s top-ranked Kingfisher. George had 2 TD passes in the game and rushed for another. He was 24/54 for 248yds.

The Liberty Christian Warriors (2-1), led by junior QB Nick Starkel dominated the Melissa Cardinals 34-7 last Friday. On an evening that was unseasonably cold, Starkel finished the game going 15/22 for 239yds and 2 TDs. Read More
