Tampa Bay High School Football Combine Spotlight: Will McCullough

This year marks the 10th Annual Tampa Bay High School Football Combine, presented by the Tampa Bay Sports Commission.  With so many exceptional student-athletes in attendance, we'd like to provide the opportunity to get to know the players a little before they hit the field at this year's combine.

Q: "What do you think distinguishes you from every other player in the nation?"

A: "I am extremely accurate, I've been a QB for twelve years, I have high football intellect, a 3.7 Honors GPA, and work 6 days a week during off-season."

Q: "What do you hope to gain out of your participation in the Tampa Bay High School Football Combine?"

A: "Additional exposure"

Q: "What are your strengths?  What do you need to improve on?"

A: "Accurate, pocket presence, reading defenses, and a great teammate.  I need to improve on speed."

Q: "What extracurricular or community involvement activities do you participate in?  What are your hobbies outside of football?"

A: "I play lacrosse, I coach little league lacrosse and football"

Q: "Which player, if any, do you model your game after or often get compared to by your teammates on the field?"

A: "Peyton Manning"

Q: "How have you evolved over the years as a player?"

A: "Overall football IQ, I've gotten bigger and stronger from CSA training, field work, and lifting"

Q: "What is your proudest moment in football?"

A: "Making varsity as a sophomore this past season"

Q: "What is your proudest moment off the field?"

A: "Achieving all my academic goals and getting and receiving scholar athlete three straight years"

Q: "What celebrity would play you in the movie version of your life and why?"

A: "Matthew McConaughey, he's funny and was great in We Are Marshall"

Q: "What TV show marathon will keep you on the couch all day?"

A: "College football/Around the Horn"

Q: "Who/what has been the biggest influence on football in your life?  How so?"

A: "My Dad. He introduced me to football at four years old and still coaches me.  He is a college lacrosse coach, and has taught me a great work ethic."

Q: "What honors or awards have you received (both athletic and non-athletic)?"

A: "Varsity as a sophomore, MVP as a freshman on JV, four-time All-American Pop Warner Treasure Coast Conference, numerous academic awards"

Q: "What is your favorite movie?"

A: "Remember the Titans"

Q: "Who is your favorite NFL team?"

A: "The Dallas Cowboys"

A: "ESPN.com"

A: "Macaroni and cheese"

A: "I have received interest from Auburn, Princeton, St. JOhns, and numerous D2 and D3 schools."
