Tampa Bay High School Football Combine Spotlight: Rashawn Kindell

This year marks the 10th Annual Tampa Bay High School Football Combine, presented by the Tampa Bay Sports Commission.  With so many exceptional student-athletes in attendance, we'd like to provide the opportunity to get to know the players a little before they hit the field at this year's combine.

Q: "What do you think distinguishes you from every other player in the nation?"

A: "My attitude, speed, agility, awareness, and willingness to get better every day."

Q: "What do you hope to gain out of your participation in the Tampa Bay High School Football Combine?"

A: "Faster 40-yard dash time, more knowledge, and a better skill set... get my name out for the colleges, get noticed."

Q: "What are your strengths?  What do you need to improve on?"

A: "My strengths are my agility, speed, and awareness.  My cons--route-running."

Q: "What extracurricular or community involvement activities do you participate in?  What are your hobbies outside of football?"

A: "I run track, the 100, 4x1, and the 200.  I volunteer at the VA, and I mow yards."

Q: "Which player, if any, do you model your game after or often get compared to by your teammates on the field?"

A: "Chris Johnson, Matt Forte, Reggie Bush, and Tayvon Austin"

Q: "How have you evolved over the years as a player?"

A: "I've gotten stronger, mentally and physically."

Q: "What is your proudest moment in football?"

A: "Throwing a game-winning touchdown pass.  I played quarterback when I was younger."

Q: "What is your proudest moment off the field?"

A: "Knowing that my grandpa and uncle would be proud to see how well I'm doing"

Q: "What TV show marathon will keep you on the couch all day?"

A: "Fresh Prince of Bel Air"

Q: "Who/what has been the biggest influence on football in your life?  How so?"

A: "My mom.  She introduced sports to me when I was three and introduced football to me when I was six.  She told me, 'One day your dreams will become your reality.'"

A: "Offensive MVP Award, Special Team Award, NJHS"

A: "Step Brothers"
