Tampa Bay High School Football Combine Spotlight: Bronson Lynch

This year marks the 10th Annual Tampa Bay High School Football Combine, presented by the Tampa Bay Sports Commission.  With so many exceptional student-athletes in attendance, we'd like to provide the opportunity to get to know the players a little before they hit the field at this year's combine.

Bronson Lynch, 5'9", 215lbs.

Class of 2015, Linebacker, Osceola Fundamental High School, FL

Q: "What do you think distinguishes you from every other player in the nation?"

A: "I have the ability to not only lead the team, but make decisions to help put myself in the best position to make a play.  I like being very vocal and I always know my assignment."

Q: "What do you hope to gain out of your participation in the Tampa Bay High School Football Combine?"

A: "I hope to produce well and get a little more exposure.  I want to come out as one of the top athletes.  I want to show people size doesn't matter, and I have the skill and heart to make it at the next level."

Q: "What are your strengths?  What do you need to improve on?"

A: "My strengths include being smart and recognizing offensive schemes.  I am also strong and pretty quick.  I have great leadership skills as well.  I would like to improve on my agility; moving from side to side and being able to move my hips would help me much more."

Q: "What extracurricular or community involvement activities do you participate in?  What are your hobbies outside of football?"

A: "I like to volunteer.  I enjoy volunteering during the summer at Walter Fuller Recreation Center.  I am in the National Honor Society, and I also plan on going to Boys State.  I work at Winn Dixie and I love shoes."

Q: "Which player, if any, do you model your game after or often get compared to by your teammates on the field?"

A: "Many people compare me to Clay Mathews.  He's smart, and he always stands out and makes plays.  I also like Arian Foster, he's very intelligent as well.  I really like the way both players carry themselves; all their humbleness."

Q: "How have you evolved over the years as a player?"

A: "I have gotten much quicker; despite tearing my Achilles during Spring last year.  I managed to rehab quick, and I really have gotten stronger.  I've become more flexible too, I've enjoyed 1-on-1s with my teammates to help out my coverage, and that has improved greatly."

Q: "What is your proudest moment in football?"

A: "My proudest moment in football would be making the Varsity team as a freshman.  It really made all the hard work pay off."

Q: "What is your proudest moment off the field?"

A: "My proudest moment off the field would have to be just staying out of trouble and not getting caught up in all the bad things that go on in life."

Q: "What celebrity would play you in the movie version of your life and why?"

A: "I haven't really thought of this one, but maybe Will Smith?  I really don't know, he's funny but at the same time a very dedicated person and he's always doing his own things, what he likes to do."

Q: "What TV show marathon will keep you on the couch all day?"

A: "Spongebob Squarepants, hands down, because it just never gets old to me.  It brings out the kid in me and I can never be upset watching Spongebob.  Maybe SportsCenter if they don't play reruns all day."

Q: "Who/what has been the biggest influence on football in your life?  How so?"

A: "My dad.  He's really pushed me to keep driving myself, and he always knows what's best.  I can go on and on but the biggest thing to me is that he's not only my biggest critic and my biggest advisor, he's my hero."

Q: "What honors or awards have you received (both athletic and non-athletic)?"

A: "Varsity letter, Deans List, Honor Roll, GPA Award, Most Valuable Linebacker, Perfect Attendance, and NHS member."

Q: "What is your favorite movie?"

A: "I don't have a favorite movie, too many good ones.  Pulp Fiction, The Breakfast Club, Flight, Invincible, The Book of Eli.  I can go on all day, I just would never be able to pick a favorite movie."

Q: "What is your favorite web site?"

A: "Kicksonfire.com -- I'm on there anytime I'm not doing homework."

Q: "What is your favorite food?"

A: "Pulled pork"

Q: "What college interest have you received?"

A: "Sewanee University of the South"

Q: "What are your statistics from your previous season?"

A: "9 carries for 59 yards, 2 catches for 12 yards, 90 tackles, 3 fumble recoveries, 4 forced fumbles"
